Scholarships To Recognize Intelligence Vision And Excellence (STRIVE)
STRIVE Scholarships are provided to assist the children of Law Enforcement Personnel in the pursuit of advanced learning. Thereby, creating the opportunity to generate a better place to reside. Who is Eligible for STRIVE Scholarships?Any child of a Law Enforcement Officer (In Active Service, Retired or Killed-In-The-Line-of-Duty) is eligible to submit an application for STRIVE Scholarship funds. Applications may be obtained by clicking here STRIVE APPLICATION (75KB PDF). The applicant must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application submission or be currently enrolled as a full time student attending an accredited University. STRIVE funds if awarded cannot be applied to semesters completed in part or whole retroactively. Applicants should pay particular attention to the scholarship application terms prior to submission. It is recommended that the applicant include with the application a photocopy of the law enforcement agency identification card issued to the parent or a photocopy of the retirement ID card. The applicant must submit with the completed application a signed and dated copy of the ‘Agreement To Succeed’ form, failure to submit this form will cause rejection for consideration for an award.How do Students Apply?STRIVE applications may only be submitted via U.S. Mail to the Care Of:

Applications postmarked prior to January 1st or after February 27th will not be considered. How Many Scholarships will be Awarded?
The Executive Board will determine the number of Scholarships to be awarded per annum. How Is The Scholarship Paid?All Scholarship awards will be paid to the student by August 1st, for the following academic year. Who Selects the Scholarship Winners?A Screening Committee has been selected by the Board of Directors and chaired by the Chairman of the Police Officer Defense Fund. All decisions are final.When?The screening committee meets as soon as is administratively possible after the application submission period is closed. Scholarship winners/recipients will be notified by U.S. Mail at the address identified on the application. All winners/recipients will be required to sign an agreement limiting usage of scholarship funds to tuition, housing and/or books (computers).
